Ugly ducklings and the little red boat

Ugly ducklings...

Tiny boats stuck in green goo. Imagine if it was scaled 1:1 - wouldn't want to sail into that icky stuff. But I like the small, colorful boats. Wonder how they got there - childrens project or art?

Today is the "longest" day of the year - the day with most light. I can't believe it's going downhill from now on. Summer's only just begun, and allready it's getting darker? No fair.

A little bit of luck on my wall

When I visited Louisiana some time ago, I brought home some clovers.
I finally got around to putting them on my wall. They fit right in with the wolves, the giant flower, the forest and the stars in my little corner of dreams.

It's nice to look up at them and imagine what sort of luck they will bring my way.

Naked trees

I'm fond of naked trees as they cast their shadow on the biketrail under a constructionssite's illuminated light, or when they stand erect against a crisp and soothing sky at dusk.

But tomorrow is April 1st and I'm looking forward to the leaves unfolding in the softest shade of green imaginable.

The Trees Are Gone...

We have many parks in Copenhagen, but overall, it's not a very green city, which is a shame.
It hurt me yesterday, when I saw they had cut down all trees but one at Kultorvet. Maybe it's part of the renovation of the street Købmagergade - but still, why cut down healthy, beautiful trees? I hope the reason is, that they had a disease - can anyone tell me if that is the case?

The sun! Yay - let's celebrate!

I went for a long walk today, had some errands to run, but just wanted to take the time and enjoy the sun, so the bike with the starclad saddle stayed at home.
There were so many people by the lakes. When you live in a winterdark and grey country like Denmark, as a citizen you learn to go outside as much as possible, when the weather is lovely like today.
It's still cold, the lakes are frozen - and they look beautiful with the ice. Like it's raining under it, or that millions of jellyfish have moulded together.
My feet were happy back in the trusted, falling-apart converse. No more big and heavy winterboots, aaah - but weather, please stay cold and sunny until spring. Pretty please?

Ida

Oh baby, it's cold outside - and inside too!

When I woke up today in my teen bedroom, there was ice on the inside of the window. But what a view.
Good thing I got a new pair of homeknit socks for christmas - they keep my feet warm! (And in style, I might add.)
