More balcony
Monday I went to Skåne with something workrelated, and at Åbergs Trädgård I bought some sweet flowers and three tiny 'smultron', which is wild strawberries. Hope they'll thrive on my balcony.
And oh yes, I do all my gardening in turqouise heels.
Hope you've had a great weekend.

Ida

Bright & Shiny Balcony (again)
So - blogger decided to delete my balconypost.
Summa summarum: I cleaned my balcony and bought new windowboxes and flowers to put in them. The overall look is very girly, but I'd rather have lots of colors than none at all.

Ida

Breakfast of pianists
I didn't have time for breakfast this morning, because my evil pianoteacher scheduled a lesson at 12 a.m. - on a sunday?! Oh, the humanity.
It was awesome though. I got too much praise, and I can't take it - I wanna drop everything and focus on the piano... and that's a baaaad idea. I mean, I've been there, and it didn't work.
So I'll continue to be a good little journalist-intern - and I love that - and squeeze in some practicetime and lessons when possible.
So. Drinking my coffee from the mini-french press - lookit! Just enough for two wolfcups. Perfect.
Now I'm going to be practical for a while: throw stuff out, wash my dirty clothes all the while dancing to Sufjan Stevens, and then go find some sun with my friend Lene - shouldn't be that hard on this beautiful day.
Hope you've had a great weekend.
Love,
Ida

May 4th
On the evening of May 4th 1945, Denmark was liberated from the germans by the allies and the russians. As a celebration people tore down the blackout curtains that had darkened their homes and hearts for five years, and they put candles in the windows.
Now it's become a tradition to do so every year on that night.
It might just be my favorite tradition because it's a symbol of freedom, perseverance and hope.

Shopping-spree
I've been in a frenzy, shopping dresses like a mad man. It felt great. Four new spring/summerdresses to my ever expanding collection. And also a new pair of shoes. Because I don't have enough shoes! (*hmmmm...*)
I also bought a tiny french press, perfect for when it's just lil' ol' me.
And the colour du jour? Brown/bronze/orange-ish, it would seem...

A little bit of luck on my wall
When I visited Louisiana some time ago, I brought home some clovers.
I finally got around to putting them on my wall. They fit right in with the wolves, the giant flower, the forest and the stars in my little corner of dreams.
It's nice to look up at them and imagine what sort of luck they will bring my way.

The weekend...
...was warm and sunny - and I stayed indoors, working. But the balconydoors were open. I could hear the birds chirping. That's something.

Treat
Sometimes you need to treat yourself to something good. In my case it was something sweet today.
A hipster cupcake from Agnes - they only had one kind left when I swung by after work, but what a one! Liqourice. It taste amazing, even if it tilted inside the box and smeared some of the yummy frosting on the sides...

I just remembered this awesome Twin Peaks quote. Seems fitting.
Dale Cooper: Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee.

Flowers from mom
On top of the cold from hell, this weekend my back gave out, and I was tied to my bed.
My mom felt so bad for me, so she drove in from my parents house sunday (only 30 minutes away, but still) with an electrical warming-pillow (is there a proper name for it in english?), so I could have it on my sore back and hopefully get better. (I did - I had a hard time walking yesterday, but today has been much better.)
With her she brought lovely, white hyacinths and what seemed like half the supermarkets fruit- and vegetable isle. My kitchen is stacked with healthy goodness.
Hooray for moms!

A Kind Of Magic
Small everyday treasures.
Good friday and weekend, everyone!

Yes, I stole the title from a Queen song. So you have to have it. Oh Freddy, why did you die so young? Mastervoice.

Kisses
My newyears resolution for 2011 is to get more kisses. So far it's going really bad, so I've started to kiss my own reflection in the mirror. (Narcissus, anyone?)
Someone had kissed the soft elephantskin-like concrete wall at Koncerthuset (the concerthall) last time I was there... sweet.

2011 so far looks...
...pretty much like 2010. But in less than one month all that changes. When I start my internship. I'm going to be one busy girl. Can't wait!
But there is a new and different thing in these pictures.
My new moomin-cup.
And the hyacinths are new.
I can't wait for spring to come.

T-Robot
So, this is what I bought in Helsingborg.
Such a cute squirrel-plate that looks right at home with my other assorted plates, a tea-robot and some yarn and a crocheting-needle. I've never crocheted before... I'm hoping to make wristwarmers. There's a long way to go. Hmmm.
Doesn't the little, shiny robot in the teacup remind you of C-3PO getting an oil bath?
I want the lego!

Color! Yay! Sugar! Yay!
Normally one would roll oatmealballs in coconut, but I didn't have any - and I had rainbowcolored sprinkles. I couldn't resist. (And I ran out of sprinkles, so I used candied violets. I think it's going to be a hit!)
They're setting in a cool place now, but can't wait to bite into one in a few hours - preferable over a good book and a cup of tea.

French Press
One of my best friends got me amazing coffee when she was in Brazil. I try to save it for special occasions, but really felt like it today.
Ummm, it's so good. With a little sweet on the side - dades. (It always makes me think of John Rhys-Davies and Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones when I say dades. You know the scene I'm talking about? Also, I'm kinda working on something that's closely related to Indiana Jones. Can't wait to show you, but it'll be half a year before I can reveal anything.)
The view is nothing like the picture on my 2ndhand coffeecup. But I like my city. It's beautiful covered in white.
Love,
Ida
