Yes!
I got an internship!
Come February 1st., 2011, I'll be writing for three different magazines concerning food (yum!), boats (ship ohoy!) and dogs (awww!)
It's gonna be a laugh, I'm sure. And I'm just so excited to begin the next chapter of my education.
The pics are just some street-art from Nørrebroparken. I kinda feel like the weird mutant-elephant. But it looks happy!

Ida

*Sigh*
I'm working on the bands pressmaterial, and alltough I study journalism, I find it really difficult.
Well, I'm eating snackolives, drinking cranberry-lemonade (inspired by Krims Krams blog) and sniffing my hyacinths. The green haycinth-vase used to belong to my great-great-grandmother! I treasure it so much.

Haha! Funny flowers
I'm sorry, this is only funny if you understand danish and know about current danish situations, but write me if you want an explenation - I'll give it a try then.
Just too good to keep for myself.

A corner of my kitchen
I love my little home, but these days it's kinda messy.
So I'll just show you this corner of my kitchen - plateracks can't be messy... (only slightly)
I'm so happy for my fruit/vegestable-wirehanger-thingy. I'm not happy about it being empty, though. It needs some avocados, apples, oranges, tomatoes, lemons. Hmm... I'm kinda hungry.

Ida

Me... a geek.
I needed to treat myself to something nice today, (I think I deserve it.) so when I was helping a friend shop (Yes, I carried her bags and all that - she has a strained foot, so it WAS really helping! Oh, you don't believe me?! You shouldn't... I bought a cute, knit dress for myself. Hmm. I really don't have the money!) - I found The Coolest Keychain EVER!
Yes, I am a geek. I bought The Millenium Falcon.
Behold:

I also need to mention Somewhere
On sunday I saw Sofia Coppolas wonderful 'Somewhere'.
I meant to write a blog about it, but have been tied up with other things, as you can tell from my latest posts.
Linda at Simpel Dagbog also wrote a post about it, and she also linked to Phoenix' beautiful contribution to the soundtrack. But I'm going to as well. 'Love like a sunset pt. 1 & 2.'
The movie was so beautiful. Very quiet, very hesitant. Giving you time to absorb the images and the unspoken.
It somehow reminded me of David Hockneys poolpaintings.
Did you see it? What did you think about it...?

Ida

Upsetting & Frustrating
Okay, so today was a big day - and it didn't go well. I study to be a journalist, and when we have to apply for internships, it all happens in one day. And this year, there were 290 students, and 240 available internships. Yeah, you do the math.
I got a phonecall really fast from one of my top-priorities, (they had 26 applications, only did 3 interviews, so yay me) - but I didn't get it. And that's the general story of today. So close, yet so far away. I'm so upset. I want to move on in my education, not come to a standstill!
So... I'm just really tired. Try to think of all the positive today. Keep my spirit high. I must find some kind of internship on my own tomorrow - somehow... I'm just tired of always fighting and struggling.
But ok, I can take it. I'm strong, so better me than some weak, poor soul.
Aaaarrrgh! I still get to be fucking pissed of! Tomorrow night I'm getting wasted. Tonight, I'm just too tired.
...but on a more mellow note, I took the ferry home, because: 1. it's cheaper than the train, and 2. I loooooove the ocean. It's soothing. And the weather was wonderful.
I love how I can always tell what season of the year it is by looking at the ocean. That particular blue color can only be in the fall.

Restless spirit...
I'm so nervous! I can't sleep, I just down one cup of coffee after the other. Tomorrows the big day.
...
My alarm is messed up, so I set it to 2.55 - then I'll be sure to catch my 5 am train, right. Right?!
So... I'm listening to my favorite song in the whole world, 'Vanity Fair' by Mr. Bungle - again and again. I love Mike Patton(s voice), and I find the bands musical-meltingpot irresistable. They are geniuses!
Oh well, I have some preparations to attend to, and later theres bandpractice and meeting. Note to self: don't drink beers!
Love,
Ida

Winding down
I'm taking a break this friday and saturday. Since I came home from Berlin, it's been stressed and busy... so I'm at my parents place, laying low, reading, playing cards, relaxing.
They live in the forest, so I went for a walk with my favorite dog Tibby.
I think the fall-foliage this year is extraordinarily beautiful. Usually it's just brown, soddy and damp - sad leaves lying in moldy puddles on the ground, but this year it's bright colors: red, green, yellow. We only need some blue sky to make it perfect.
I felt like I was part of Twin Peaks, walking there, smelling the pinetrees. So now - damn good coffee, and Angelo Badalamentis wonderful soundtrack.
Love,
Ida
The Malpractice
A little song for the weekend.
Johannes Gammelby is one of the most talented songwriters in Denmark in my book. He is part of Beta Satan, and he used to frontline his solo-project I Am Bones, but that is of the past.
Now it's time for The Malpractice - a different soloproject. The name is taken from the Faith No More song featured on 'Angel Dust' - yeah, how awesome is that?
I dig the new album! Soundvenue, my boss-mag, has streamed it this week.
His music just gets to me. The energy, the noise, the atmosphere, the references. I wanna make music like this. Only with a girlvocal and more piano. I'm working on that.
Hope you enjoy,
Love Ida
P.s. If you're in Copenhagen, then there's a releaseparty tomorrow at Beta. I won't be able to attend, but go go go!
